Tiled behind the stove early, so I could move it back and tile the rest. First, had to strip all the asphalt (black tar) adhesive which held the old linoleum (?) down. Same mess as in the laundry room earlier...

Removed the cabinet over the stove to make holes for the vent pipe to go through. The old hood never had its vent connected, so wasn't very useful. (Previous owners never got around to it)

Vent pipe detail. The round pipe goes into a square hole, but it's sealed pretty well with some strips of foam: tested by turning on the blower and checking for leaks. On the roof, lots of air coming out of that vent when it's on.
